  Came in for dinner. We had the Halibut sandwich, garlic prawns, and seafood linguini. The food was fresh and tasted great. The portions were big (except for the garlic prawns, an appetizer)

  Shady Island's food used to reflect its name - gritty, lukewarm, oversalted. I stopped in one day after a blood test, ravenous, and ordered a big combo platter to share with my sister at home. I ordered a bowl of clam chowder while I waited and it was delicious, no sandy clams or mushy discolored vegetables like the last few times I'd been. Plus the food I took home was scrumptious and didn't get soggy! I don't know if they got new management or a new chef or what, but it's working for them.

  Amazing service! Our waitress was kind and quick.. I'm shocked to see the reviews saying they didn't like this place. We went around 3 in the afternoon on a Saturday. Food was cooked perfectly... I had the grill chicken sandwich and my wife had the cod fish and chips... I don't like fish.... but I tried it anyway and it was actually really good! I can't wait to bring friends and family here when they visit! For those of you who don't like the taste of fish, my chicken didn't have any fishy taste to it! Great place for you to bring a picky eater if you want to enjoy your fish!

  Terrible service, waited 40 minutes between finishing our appetizer and getting our entrees. Other tables seated after us recieved their meals 1st. We were told it was because they only ordered fish and chips. No apology and the rest of the meal was lacklustre. WILL NOT BE BACK. Other restaurants in the area have better food and significantly better service.
