  My girlfriend and I visited Britannia for a second time this summer. The first time we sat outside on the patio had couple of beers and roasted nuts. Overall it was not a bad experience. The location is great. It was a hot day and that beer was what we needed. Our second visit was on July 2nd in the afteroon. The place wasn't packed. There were empty seats both inside and outside. We were sat down fast and someone brought us water and took our order right away. We ordered one beer and crab-cakes. Beer arrived within a couple of minutes. The 150 anniversary beer was a smoked ale and as a regular craft beer drinker I quite liked it. After a few sips we started waiting. About half an hour into our wait my girlfriend asked how they were doing on the food and we were told our order was next and the kitchen was slammed. We assumed they forgot about our food. She then got up and looked around to find that most people were either eating some hummus or some other snacks. We still waited and about 35 minutes after we sat down the food arrived. As soon as it arrived we each got a bite to find that the food was only warm, if that. The waitress said they are deep fried and not supposed to be warm. Long story short we sat there for 40 minutes, had half a sleeve of beer and a bite of warm crab-cakes. Wait staff asked us if there was anything they could do but it was too late. They accepted us not paying and we left very disappointed and more hungry.

  I really like this place. I have loved all appetizers and entrees I've tried from here. They make an amazing apple drink from fresh green apples. Patio is really nice, with a few big tables for larger groups. Great location too.

  Best burgers in Steveston - by a huge margin! Really top-notch service experience yesterday and even their coffee is good! You will NOT be disappointed in Britannia!
